There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent destination, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel compound that highlights many amenities aside from the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
