The basic lack in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense rather questionable, in one way or another.

In years gone by, the city was a location where many South Africans would drop by to flee from the incredibly restricted regulations on games of chance (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. Hence, you might bargain on somewhat of a thriving spot to oblige that tourist market.

On the other hand, maybe it is not really a discovery. The state is one of the most pauperized on the planet, having gone through a horrifying civil war (followed by devastating floods) from which it is still, very slowly, pulling through. This could make a spot lesser of a tourist destination, although there is presently a inviting view along a number of the state’s breathtaking beaches.

It is added to that legitimate that regionally to a certain extent, casinos in Mozambique have had to partake with others in the newly liberalized South Africa, including the notable Sun City founded by the Kerzner family management.

Here’s a list of Casinos in Mozambique:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines as well as video poker games, 5 tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, along with a poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are forty slot machines, American roulette, as well as two tables for poker and also punto banco.

It is thought that over time the complete tourism sector in Mozambique will expand efficaciously. While the local languages are, obviously, African, there is at the same time the balance of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the innovative and developing awakening of English, both from South Africa and as part of the worldwide phenomenon. The country is quite cheap (evidently, as it is so poor) and as above, has some of the most outstanding beaches worldwide, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the sorts of things that make tourism authorities drool, and as the country advances out of its prevailing slump, it is likely that not only will tourism grow, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer also.

While the country is unlikely to ever regain its image as a place for partying South Africans, as there are now other choices closer to home for them to revel in, the enhancement of a long distance tourism business is being arranged. This would be to serve Europeans wanting winter sun, as a break from the blues of the Northern Hemisphere winter. And, evidently, the finest prawns (shrimp) around the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
